Beauty and the Beast ~ Book 1

The Winds of Change

by Tee Hoagland

AUTHOR’S NOTE:

Welcome to Book 1 of my Beauty and the Beast series!

These novels are based on our beloved series. I love this show so much, I found myself asking, “What’s the rest of the story?” My imagination ran away with me, and I wrote it down. Presented here are my musings of between scenes backstories, answers to why characters made certain choices, and possibilities when characters and storylines aren’t limited by the dictates of a studio or budget. I include all the scenes in the show while presenting one option for how those scenes came about and where they led. I hope my extra scenes will enrich the story with character and plot development. I plan to novelize the whole series. Each book will contain three parts covering episodes of the show presented in US broadcast order, with a few of my own stories when it suits the overall arc of the book. I made a time frame change so the episodes in season one could follow a linear timeline.

This book covers the first three episodes of season one. I hope you find my ideas an enjoyable enrichment of the series.

Be blessed!

  2. I loved what I read. The growing bond, their feelings while Catherine was in the tunnels. The television showed a substitute for what was going on, and here you can immerse yourself in all those emotions, imagine exactly how they surrounded her with care(thoughtful Mary, William with regenerating soup, anxious Father.) That frequent hand-holding, Vincent’s carrying Catherine, the long conversations. I’m fascinated by the description of how the affection between them grows day by day. Later how Above returns their longing for each other’s presence, for touch, for conversation. Catherine’s being in places where she could see even his shadow, and he is always nearby hidden for fear that he can’t give her what she wants.
I like their reunion, more gestures, more time together…and the important conversation after he saved her life, when she takes his hands and assures him of his goodness. It drew me in incredibly.
I’m about to watch “Pilot”:) Thank you so much!

  3. Tee, I admire you for undertaking this extensive project for all of us to enjoy! Your novelization is not only a good read, but it also makes a great reference source for refreshing one’s memory about the episodes. In addition, it’s very impressive to see the way you have filled in so many of those missing moments.
