Happy WFOL 20th Anniversary!
For CABB’s contribution to this year’s WFOL, and in honor of WFOL’s 20th anniversary, we went with the “20” theme and challenged BatB writers to create stories that included 20 specific elements associated with Beauty & the Beast.
Specifically, the writers were asked to choose two items from each of ten categories (10 x 2 = 20) and include them in some way in a short story. The participating writers came up with some wonderful ideas, which we hope you’ll enjoy!

THE SUBMISSIONS
10 x 2 = 20 categories
These are the categories the writers had to work with, along with some suggestions to help get them started. They could also use other items of their choice that fit within the categories.
1. Principal characters: Vincent, Catherine, Father, Joe
2. Supporting or minor characters: Mouse, Jamie, Brigit, Edie
3. Places Above: Catherine’s balcony, Central Park, the DA’s Office, Williamsburg Bridge
4. Places Below: The Great Falls, The Whispering Gallery, the Abyss, Father’s study
5. Events: Winterfest, Henry and Lin’s wedding, a concert in the park, Naming Ceremony
6. Quotations: Follow your heart; it wasn’t courage, it was love; she changed my life forever; what we have is worth everything.
7. BatB symbols/talismans: crystals, red and white roses, candles, books of poetry
8. Words from episode titles: Any episode from First or Second Season
9. Items found in Vincent’s chamber: journal, stained glass window, clocks, quilts
10. Books from the episodes: Shakespeare’s sonnets, Great Expectations, The Velveteen Rabbit, The Elephant’s Child
