It was April 12th, 1995. Vincent and Catherine were celebrating not only the day they met but also their 5th wedding anniversary. Catherine was playing a Celine Dion CD, and the beautiful love songs were so romantic. As one particular song came on, Catherine and Vincent were dancing in her living room, and Vincent softly sang the words in her ear, his beautiful baritone mixing perfectly with Celine’s alto.

As the song came to an end, Catherine smiled. She loved Vincent’s voice, and it wasn’t the first time he had sung for her over the years.

“This song reminds me of when we first met. We’ve been through so much together, getting to this point,” Vincent said. “I have no regrets, though.”

“Me either, Vincent. Our love and our bond has grown stronger over the past 5 years. Yes, it went away while I was pregnant with Jacob. But it came back after I gave birth. That’s how I knew to go up to the rooftop and find you.”

“That was such a dark time for me. I thought it was a nightmare. I’m glad I called Peter when I brought you back home and he was able to revive you. He was the only one I knew who could help.”

“Yes. But enough talk of dark times. I picked up a chocolate cake from my favorite bakery. Would you like a piece?”

“Yes, that is darkness I will gladly accept! I’m so blessed to have you in my life, Catherine. Happy anniversary, my love.”
