NEW YEAR’S EVE
by Crowmama
A Drabble
The raucous, wild revels Above could not reach them. They wouldn’t see the ball drop or hear Auld Lang Syne. But in a cozy cave within the warren, beneath the rock and subways, under pipes and access tunnels, under the streets that conveyed the partygoers to Time’s Square, a connected pair created their own memorable celebration. The fireworks near the city center couldn’t hold a candle to his sparkling touch, the electric blue of their bond, or the red desire they shared. Hidden from the world, they started their new and wondrous year, as they should, together, and with love.

Karen, there are no words. All tenderness, sensuality and love hidden in words. Wonderful drabble!
Karen, this is such a beautiful drabble! I love the way you merged their worlds, Above and Below, to portray their own special realm and reality. Perfect word choices! I’m impressed with how much you always can say with only a few — extremely well-chosen — words.
Happy New Year!
Such an intimate, compelling portrait of the where, the who and the what that captured our hearts so many years ago, in just 100 words!
