The prompts: Brigit, a piece of jewelry, a bookstore in Manhattan

Smythe’s Bookstore was empty when the woman opened its door.

The shop owner looked up as she entered. “May I help you?”

“My friend Catherine told me about this place.” She smiled coyly. “I’m here to browse and possibly meet someone.”

“I see.” He eyed her with curiosity. “And who might that be?”

She leaned across the counter and whispered, “Is Kristopher nearby?”

“I’m not sure who you…” he began.

Suddenly, a voice within the stacks called out, “Your earrings are as green as your eyes, my dear Brigit.”

Mr. Smythe smiled. “Ah, well, it looks like you’re in luck!”
