LET’S TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT

by Jessica Rupe

A knock sounded on the office door at Witt /Thomas. “Come in.”

Ron and Linda walked in. “Hi Howard, Alex,” said Ron. “Linda and I were talking about your script for the new Season Three opening, Though Lovers Be Lost“.

“Yeah? What about it?”

Linda spoke up. “Just because I’m pregnant and getting ready to leave doesn’t mean Catherine should be killed off! You’re going to make a lot of fans very angry.”

“What would you suggest instead?”

“Let’s make Though Lovers Be Lost the series finale at the end of Season Two,” Ron suggested. “Instead of the doctor injecting Catherine with morphine, he injects her with medicine to make her fall asleep. The doc and the nurse are secretly working behind the scenes to get Catherine and her baby away from this Gabriel guy, but Catherine doesn’t know that.”

Linda continued, “The doctor and nurse have set up a car seat on the stairs on the rooftop for the baby, in order to leave the baby behind on the roof. Before Catherine goes up the stairs and finds Vincent, she grabs the bottle of the sedative. After she falls unconscious due to the medicine, Vincent hears the baby cry, finds him, and takes both of them Below. She’s examined by Father; they discover the sedative.”

“When Catherine wakes up, the family is reunited. The final scene should be the baby’s naming ceremony combined with Vincent and Catherine’s wedding. What do you think?” Ron asked.

Howard and Alex looked at each other. “That might actually work! Let’s do it!”
