On this special day (our 32nd wedding anniversary) I woke up with a melody in my head that sounds like:

You’ve set my heart on fire
Filled me with love
Made me a woman on clouds above

I couldn’t get much higher
My spirit takes flight
‘Cause I am alive

And my memory goes back to a particular page of my diary, who knows why…

The World Below, April 12, 1990

Dear Diary,

It’s been a long time since that terrible day when my life and Vincent’s were about to be destroyed.

Now I’m here in my new world, close to my love and writing my vows on the most beautiful day of our lives. God knows that we are the ones standing by through good and through trying times, one heart, one soul…

Vincent is the best man on Earth, I repeat, MAN… Because, despite all that happened, we have proven that his beastly side has lost its battle, being defeated by our act of love, and so he has always been a man who simply wanted to be loved and treated well, as all HUMAN BEINGS want…

Dear Vincent, I promise you to be always beside you, to fight against evil and to give strength to all people in need, no matter what.

I thank you for restoring my life, setting my heart on fire, filling me with love, making me a woman. I couldn’t get much higher, my spirit takes flight, ’cause I am alive!!! Now I’ll not reverse my decision; your world is now my world and here our son will grow up surrounded by love and compassion. He resembles you; he’s beautiful, in his eyes I see your courage and empathy.

Now we are writing our story and no other poet or writer will be able to write such a masterpiece. Ever…
