The sound of children’s voices, heartfelt and harmonious, filled the candlelit dining chamber. The cherished holiday tradition was progressing just as expected.

Nestled among friends and family, Father glanced at the handwritten program clutched in his fist. Only three more songs, then everyone would join in for the annual holiday sing-along. Or so they all thought.

He took another sip of warm herbal tea, lightly laced with lemon, as he made a final mental run-through of his boyhood favorite, “Here We Come A-wassailing.”

His stomach was full of butterflies, but his heart was full of joy.

What better gift than to share his secret talent at last?
