APRIL 12th CHALLENGE
ANNIVERSARIES
A YEAR
a drabble by Crowmama
Last Anniversary they were interrupted, threatened.
Throughout May they lick their wounds.
Frustrating June has little time or darkness to meet safely Above.
By July, however, they venture back to her warm balcony.
In August, a concert date ends later than either expected.
September flies.
October too.
By November their nights together last until indigo-grey morning.
In December, she quits the D.A.’s office.
January they spend cocooned Below, until Winterfest.
February’s a honeymoon
March is filled with myriad comforts and discomforts.
Again April arrives and with it their anniversary gift to one another – tiny, noisy, demanding … and perfect.

Just a few of the perfect lines in your adorable piece. Thank you for each line!
Your comments are gratefully accepted and appreciated.
You are an inspiration! In fact, “cocooned” came from my go to place of, “now what word would Nancy use? I need to be precise!”
Lol!
Thank you for reading!

Loved this Karen loved the wording and the ending was superb. Warms the heart . Karen
Crowmama, I love this drabble. And the cute ending “April arrives and with it their anniversary gift to one another – tiny, noisy, demanding … and perfect.” Must of been a great honeymoon for Catherine and Vincent. thank you for a great drabble.
Well, PearlAnn, they got started a little early. (In August to be precise,) but we won’t hold it against them. A little early (or late, depending on your pov,) to the party, and the courses a bit out of order, but it’s a really satisfying meal. 😉
Thank you for commenting! I appreciate you. 😊
It always impresses and amazes me that you can find a way to say so much in just a few words. That’s a true talent and gift! Thank you for writing for this Challenge and sharing it with all of us!
Thank you, Linda! I respect your opinion and work so much and I am geeked we get to be in this amazing fandom together!!

Crowmama, your drabble is simply amazing. A year gently passed in a few words! Thank you!
You are so welcome, Nelly!
Thank you for reading!
How lovely, Crowmama! A true test of the drabble format — how to encapsulate an entire year in just a few sentences and fragments, giving each month it’s own character. Bravo!
HUGS,
Karen/Lindariel
Everything I mean after reading your words is written earlier in the comments.. really great, so much tenderness, love, emotions in just a few words.. and a beautiful happy ending that we dreamed of for them.
