Anniversaries often are celebrated with the exchange of especially meaningful gifts. Think of Vincent’s crystal and Catherine’s rose, symbols of their unity and undying love.

While a gift can be a beautiful object, it might also be something less tangible – a shared experience, a memorable moment, a promise fulfilled, a dream discovered.

For this year’s April 12th CABB Challenge, we invited our fandom writers to choose one or more of three given prompts as a basis for writing “Anniversary Gifts” drabbles. (Just as a reminder, a drabble is an extremely short story consisting of exactly 100 words, not counting punctuation or title.)

We are very happy to have received drabbles from thirteen talented writers, some of whom are first time contributors to our CABB Challenges! The theme of anniversary gifts has been explored and expressed in a variety of creative ways, all of which you’re sure to enjoy.
